’16 And Pregnant’ star Autumn Crittendon’s cause of death revealed
The cause of death for former “16 and Pregnant” star Autumn Oxley, also known as Autumn Crittendon, has been confirmed three months after she died in July 2024 at age 27.
The manner of death is accidental and the cause of death is fentanyl and para/meta-fluorofentanyl toxicity, a spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the Virginia Department of Health confirmed to TODAY.com in an email on Oct. 23.
Oxley died on the afternoon of July 20 at her home in Henrico County, Virginia, the Henrico County Police Division announced in a statement previously obtained by TODAY.com
Police officers and fire personnel responded to Oxley’s residence after receiving a report of a medical emergency of an unresponsive adult female inside, the statement said.
Although members of the Henrico Fire Department attempted to perform life-saving measures on Oxley, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Oxley, a mother of three children, appeared on Season 5 of “16 and Pregnant,” which aired in 2014.
The reality series chronicled Oxley’s pregnancy with her then-boyfriend Dustin Franklin. She gave birth to the pair’s son, Drake, on the show.
Oxley described herself as a “mother of two little boys Drake and Luke and a beautiful little girl Abigail” in her bio on Facebook.
In July, MTV’s “Teen Mom” franchise honored Oxley after her death on X.
“We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Autumn Crittendon,” the statement read. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”
