Kelly Clarkson has once again proven that she is the queen of covers.

On the Nov. 26 episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Clarkson wowed her fans when she sang her rendition of Taylor Swift’s bop “Lavender Haze.”

For her “Kellyoke” performance, Clarkson and her show’s band kept the song’s original jazzy, sultry tone. She used the song’s memorable bridge to show off her signature vocal belt.

At the end of the song, Clarkson was met with a round of applause from her studio audience.

On YouTube, the comments section was filled with praise for her performance.

“KELLY CLARKSON SINGING TAYLOR SWIFT IS A THING NOW,” one person commented on the video.

Another referenced Swift’s popular “Eras Tour” and said, “I need a Kelly Clarkson eras tour. Sing your hits girl! AND throw some covers in too please!!!”

A third wrote, “Mesmerizing & captivating as always.”

Over on X, the performance also made the rounds, after one user tweeted, “Not even Taylor Swift is safe,” referring to the longstanding joke that Clarkson may out-sing the original performers with her covers.

Calling Clarkson “Thanos Clarkson,” a riff on a Marvel supervillain, the X user wrote, “someone needs to stop Kelly ASAP.”

“Kelly collecting these pop girlies like thanos collected stones,” one user responded.

“Lavender Haze” isn’t the first song of Swift’s that Clarkson has covered. For the Season 4 premiere of her daytime show, she sang “Welcome to New York” as a mashup (in true Swift fashion) with “On the Road Again,” “Music” and “Freeway of Love.”

Clarkson and Swift have a longstanding friendship. After Swift spoke out against the sale of the master recordings of her first six albums, Clarkson offered the “Karma” singer some advice and told her to rerecord her work.

Since then, Swift has sent Clarkson flowers every time she rereleases one of her previous albums, the talk show host told “E! News” in November 2023.

“She’s a very smart businesswoman,” Clarkson said. “So, she would have thought of that. But it just sucks when you see artists that you admire and you respect really wanting something and it’s special to them. You know if they’re going to find a loophole, you find a loophole. And she did it and literally is, like, the bestselling artist I feel like of all-time now.”
