Cynthia Erivo is weighing in once and for all on whether fans should sing along with “Wicked” in movie theaters.

Erivo stopped by the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for a chat with Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie.

When Hoda mentioned that plenty of “Wicked” superfans have been belting out their favorite songs from the Broadway musical while watching the film adaptation, Erivo didn’t hesitate to share her reaction.

“Good! I’m OK with it,” she said. “We spent this long singing it ourselves, it’s time for everyone else to join in. It’s wonderful.”

Erivo has addressed the sing-along debate before. In a recent interview with NBC News, she said she understands the urge to sing beloved “Wicked” songs at the movies along with the actors on screen.

“I say if you come the first time and you sing through, sing through,” she said. “But come a second time and let us sing to you.”

Co-star Ariana Grande also said she “understand(s) it if you do, and if you don’t.”

That said, “if someone throws popcorn at you, or their phone or something, maybe stop,” she joked.

Erivo also shared a heartwarming moment with Hoda Kotb during the Thanksgiving Day parade, surprising Hoda with a bouquet of flowers in honor of her upcoming departure from TODAY.

Hoda will be leaving TODAY in January, but staying within the NBC family.

“Before you even begin, these flowers are for you because I know this is the last Thanksgiving parade you’re doing, and I wanted to celebrate that, and I wanted to say we love you,” Erivo told Hoda. “Thank you for all of the hard work you’ve done for all of these years.”

Erivo also talked about her joy for being part of “Wicked,” which broke box office records on its opening weekend.

“It’s the most wonderful, unbelievable experience ever,” Erivo said. “This is such a wonderful thing to be able to share with everyone. We’ve been keeping it to ourselves, and now everyone else can watch it.”
