Jerry O’Connell is anything but checked out of The Talk in the final days of the CBS daytime talk show.

The Scream alum took to social media to deny a report that stated the co-hosts had given up in their last days of broadcasting following their cancellation.

“What the heck [The Sun], you’re acting like we’re just hanging in the hallways, smoking grass,” O’Connell shared on Instagram. “We give it our all! Everyday!”

O’Connell went on to list everything he did this week on the show, saying, “I danced like Mick Jagger on Tuesday. Then I was Sly Stallone. AND then my co-hosts showed their feet! Goonies never say die!!! Love [The Talk] fam!”

The actor went on to receive many messages of support from his fans, including one from comedian Loni Love, who experienced something similar after talk show The Real was canceled in 2022.

“You sure do Jerry, but even if y’all did just phone it in, it would be cause for it,” Love replied. “Cancellations are brutal but all I have seen from the cast are professionals enjoying the last days.”

The Talk is ending its 15-season run on CBS, and its final broadcast day will be December 20. O’Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, and Sheryl Underwood are set to “welcome an array of guests” during their last week, including big holiday giveaways to their audience.

The daytime talk show, which airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+, debuted on Oct. 18, 2010, as part of the network’s daytime programming block. In April, the network announced that the show was being renewed for a 15th and final abbreviated season, wrapping up in December.

CBS plans to launch the new soap Beyond the Gates, set to premiere on February 24, in the timeslot currently holding The Talk. The network will not air reruns of the talk show but will instead air reruns of the game show The Price Is Right until the new soap takes over.
