Tim McGraw to perform live at famous ‘Field of Dreams’ site. How to get tickets
Tim McGraw fans are in for a real treat.
The country crooner will be performing a concert on Aug. 30 in Dyersville, Iowa, at the site where the iconic “Field of Dreams” movie was filmed. While the site has been used for events like baseball games and festivals, this will be the first time a concert will take place on the 193-acre farm, according to a press release.
“Located in the heart of Iowa, this concert will be a must-see for both country music fans and devotees of the 1989 film ‘Field of Dreams,'” the release said.
“It’s more than just a tourist attraction — it’s a place where the magic of the movies meets the spirit of America’s pastime,” it continued. “Now, it will host one of the most iconic country music stars in the world.
StubHub has teamed up with U.S. Concert Agency (USCA) on a multi-year partnership that names the ticketing site the official ticket partner for McGraw’s “Field of Dreams” concert, per the release. Tickets will be exclusively sold through StubHub.
Presale tickets will be available to purchase starting on Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. ET, followed by the open early bird pricing tickets on Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. ET. Then, a few days later, the general on-sale event will take place on Jan. 24 at 1 a.m. ET.
The general admission presale price starts at $69.99, general admission regular price at $99.99, VIP at $299.99 and Home Run VIP at $499.99.
“We’re thrilled to partner with USCA and bring Tim McGraw’s electrifying performance to this iconic location,” Adam Budelli, head of North America partnerships at StubHub, said in the release.
“This collaboration combines the power of StubHub’s global platform with the magic of one of America’s most beloved landmarks, offering fans a truly unique experience,” it continued.
Nick Abate, founder of USCA, said in the release that the concert will be an “unforgettable event,” noting that the performance is also a tribute to McGraw’s dad, late baseball player Tug McGraw.
“We always strive to curate memorable and impactful events, and this tribute to Tug McGraw’s legacy is no exception,” he said. “It’s a huge moment not only for the fans but for Tim as well, and it’s just the beginning of something truly special.”
McGraw’s father, who pitched for the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, died in 2004 at the age of 59.
The “Just to See You Smile” singer didn’t know he was related to the famous pitcher until he was 11 years old, but he said in an August 2021 interview with Esquire that he never held it against him.
“People ask me, ‘How could you have a relationship with your father? You were growing up in nothing. He was a millionaire baseball player. He knew you were there, and he didn’t do anything,'” McGraw said.
“But when I found out Tug McGraw was my dad, it gave me something in my little town in Louisiana, something that I would have never reached for. How could I ever be angry?” he continued.
