WWE’s star-studded Royal Rumble is almost here. What to know

One of the most anticipated WWE events of the year, the Royal Rumble, will take place Saturday night, Feb. 1, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Royal Rumble is both the name of the event and the name of its signature men’s and women’s matches. A Royal Rumble match begins with two superstars in the ring, with an additional competitor entering every 90 seconds thereafter. The goal is to toss the other superstars over the top rope.

The winners of the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches will earn a championship match at WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, scheduled for April 19 and 20.

This year’s Royal Rumble event will also feature Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship in a ladder match against Kevin Owens.

Which superstars will take part in the Royal Rumble 2025 matches?

The men’s Royal Rumble match will feature John Cena, who is in the midst of his farewell tour with WWE as he prepares to retire from wrestling this year. He’ll join these other names who’ve been announced for the match: Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth “Freakin’” Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura.

The following superstars have declared for the women’s Royal Rumble match: Bayley, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Naomi and Nia Jax.
