Grammys viewers love the firefighter who presented Beyoncé with album of the year

Beyoncé won her first album of the year award at the Grammys on Feb. 3 — and the person who presented her with the award couldn’t hide her excitement.
At the end of the awards ceremony, representatives from the Los Angeles fire department took the stage to hand out the album of the year award.
The firefighters were honored for their work to contain the wildfires that devastated the city earlier this month, and were greeted with a standing ovation and applause on the red carpet.
Fire chief Anthony Marrone and another firefighter presented the evening’s final award. When the firefighter opened up the envelope to read its contents aloud, her face gave away her emotion.
She appeared to gasp then held the envelope to her chest “like it was her award,” as one X user remarked.
“”Cowboy Carter.’ Beyoncé,” she said, tripping on the first word.
Online, Grammy viewers reacted to the moment, saying she appeared to be part of the BeyHive, the name of the singer’s fandom.
“the excitement of the lady firefighter about Beyoncé winning was so cute like ‘i get to meet the queen???'” one X user wrote.
“AND DID Y’ALL SEE HOW EXCITED THE FIREFIGHTER PRESENTING THE AWARD GOT WHEN SHE GOT TO READ BEYONCÉ WON?” one wrote.
“that firefighter held that envelope to her chest baby like she was hugging Beyoncé,” another wrote.
Another joked that she would have a “direct to streaming documentary about her life within the next 6 weeks” after presenting the award.
On threads, a user wrote, “This firefighter seeing Beyoncé’s name FINALLY on the album of the year winners card is all of us.”
After her name was called, Beyoncé hugged her daughter Blue Ivy Carter and her husband Jay-Z before taking the stage and hugging both firefighters.
She gave a speech acknowledging her years in music. Beyoncé has the most Grammy wins of any individual but won her first album of the year only then.
“I just feel full and very honored,” she said. “It’s been many, many years. I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work.”
Other onlookers were emotional. Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga were in the audience crying.
Fans remarked on the poignant series of moments.
“the firefighter who gasped with delight for beyonce, gaga with tears rolling down her face as beyonce accepted her award, there is much pain in this world but not in that room,” an X user remarked.
The firefighters were honored at the Grammys their work to contain the wildfires that devastated the city earlier this month, and were greeted with a standing ovation and applause on the red carpet.
“On behalf of the members of the county of Los Angeles Fire Department, I would like to thank the Recording Academy for having us here this evening, this is a tremendous honor and privilege to be in the company of such talented music industry professionals as fire chief. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank first responders who came from near and far to battle this wildfire siege,” Marrone said during the ceremony.
