Is there a new episode of ‘Dateline’ tonight?

Yes. “Dateline” is back on March 14 with a new episode entitled “Deadly Entanglement.”

How to watch the latest episode of ‘Dateline’

The new episode of “Dateline” will air on NBC on Friday, March 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and 8 p.m. CT.

The episode will be released for streaming on Peacock the following day — Saturday, March 15. Previous episodes of Dateline, including Keith Morrison’s interview with Lori Vallow Daybell that aired last week, are also on Peacock.

What is the true story that inspired tonight’s ‘Dateline’?

“Deadly Entanglement,” the latest episode of “Dateline,” follows the murder of 30-year-old middle school art teacher Desiree Sunford, who was fatally shot in the home she shared with her husband, Scott Sunford, in 2013.

“New evidence and testimonies poke holes in the story of a harmonious three-way affair between the couple and a mutual friend,” the official description reads.

The mutual friend in question, Paige Blades, spoke with Dateline for the episode.

Blades’ friend, Marty Grismer, was convicted of murdering Desiree Sunford in 2017. He took an Alford Plea and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. He is currently serving out his sentence at the Washington State Penitentiary.

Blades was involved in a romantic relationship with Desiree’s husband Scott Sunford, according to a police conversation obtained by Dateline. He and Blades both told police Desiree Sunford was part of it, too. What they didn’t tell police was that whatever happened — which isn’t completely clear — ended quickly more than a year before her murder.

In her interview with Dateline’s Alexander, Blades denies conspiring with Marty Grismer or Scott Sunford to kill Desiree Sunford.

“No, absolutely not,” she said.

Alexander asked Blades to respond to the idea that if it weren’t for her, Desiree Sunford would still be alive.

“I don’t think that’s fair,” Blades said. “I believe that if Marty hadn’t been in my life, Des would still be alive. I understand that to a lot of people, it probably seems like and feels like I am central to everything. But from my own side, I’m on the outside looking in. I didn’t feel like I was the one in the center.”

Also interviewed are Desiree Sunford’s brother Kasey Cast, her friends Kim Odell, Kayla Lewis and Michelle Howell; former sheriff’s deputy Ed Levesque, former sheriff’s detective Dave Johnson, and Beth Maxwell, Grismer’s ex-wife.
