Adele bursts into tears after seeing this iconic singer in the audience of her show
Even music superstars like Adele can get starstruck.
Over the weekend, the “Easy on Me” singer was performing at one of her Las Vegas residency shows when she spotted a famous face in the crowd.
One fan who attended the show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace uploaded a video to TikTok of Adele making her way through the audience during the interactive part of her concert.
In the clip, Adele sees Céline Dion sitting in the crowd and immediately bursts into tears. Dion also appears to be emotional as the two share an embrace.
The audience erupts into applause while Adele continues to sob and places a hand on Dion’s face. The “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” singer then sweetly kisses Adele’s hand before taking a seat. The fan filmed Dion wiping tears from her eyes while Adele finished strolling through the crowd.
“Can you sing it for me?” a tearful Adele asks her fans. The audience helps out and starts belting the lyrics to her song “When We Were Young.”
Later in the clip, Adele says, “Give it up to Ms. Céline Dion!” leading to more thunderous applause.
Dion, still overcome with emotion, stands, waves and blows kisses to express her gratitude.
Before the video ends, Adele, who had returned to the stage, refers to Dion as “one of my favorite people of all time.”
Fans in the comments celebrated seeing the two musical artists interact.
“Iconic moment captured. Celine Dion back in the Colosseum that was built for her, after battling her rare disease, sharing such a beautiful moment with the lovely Adele,” one said, referring to Dion’s stiff person syndrome diagnosis.
Another wrote, “You can see the (unmistakable) adoration Adele has for all those who came before her and paved the way for her success. But especially Celine, in that place. Absolutely incredible.”
A third simply said, “A queen uplifting another queen.”
Dion attended the 46th weekend of Adele’s show, which the “Hello” singer noted on Instagram. The concert was one of Adele’s final residency performances before her upcoming “incredibly long” break.
At one of her residency shows last month in Munich, Germany, she confirmed she plans to take some time off from performing and releasing new music.
Dion made sure to see the singer before her hiatus, marking a rare public appearance since she shared her diagnosis in 2022. Recently, Dion has been slowly returning to the spotlight. She performed at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony this summer and recently teamed up with NFL to promote a “Sunday Night Football” game.
