‘American Idol’ alum Triston Harper, 16, is married and expecting his 1st baby with wife
“American Idol” alum Triston Harper is celebrating some exciting news.
The 16-year-old singer from Alabama is expecting his first child with wife Paris Reed. Harper shared the news on Facebook Nov. 8, posting a photo of him and Reed holding a positive pregnancy test.
Harper’s mom, Hattie Sullivan, also confirmed the news and her excitement, writing on Facebook, “Now Everybody has congratulated me on Triston and Paris getting married but to me that is old news but now I’m bout to be a ‘G Ma.'”
Just two days prior to their pregnancy news, Harper and Reed made their marriage Facebook official.
“Iv got big news harpies,” he wrote on Nov. 6, confirming his marriage. Harper was only 15 when he auditioned for Season 22 of “American Idol,” which premiered in February of this year.

“You have your ups and downs,” he said in his one-on-one interview, sharing how his mom was in an abusive relationship when he was 11. “And everything went sideways.”
By the age of 12, he and his mother were homeless.
“My mama wanted us to be something,” he said on the show. “That’s why I got into music.”
For his audition, the teen sang “Cover Me Up” by Jason Isbell while playing the guitar.
“Your voice, you got it,” Richie told him after his audition. “Your voice is a storytelling voice.”
Perry also called him “authentic,” an “old soul” and said she was impressed, while Bryan said he could give him some tips.
Harper would go on to Hollywood and make it in the top five.
His final performances were during the May 12 “Disney” night episode, where he sang “Almost There“ from “The Princess and the Frog” and “Life Is a Highway” from Cars.
Since then, he’s been releasing music on his social media platforms.
