Bobby Farrelly’s ‘Dear Santa’ Starring Jack Black Unveils Trailer, Paramount+ Premiere Date
Add another new title to the list of holiday films to check out this winter.
After an extended wait, Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for their comedy Dear Santa, reteaming Jack Black with director Peter Farrelly, announcing that the film will become available for streaming on Paramount+ and on digital November 25.
In Dear Santa, a young boy mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error. Thereafter, a devilish Jack Black arrives to wreak havoc on the holidays.
Ricky Blitt & Peter Farrelly wrote the script from their story conceived with Dan Ewen. The project reunites Black with the Farrelly brothers for the first time since the 20th Century Fox comedy Shallow Hal, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow, back in 2001.
Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, Post Malone, P.J. Byrne, Jaden Carson Baker, and Kai Cech round out the cast. Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly, and Jeremy Kramer produced the holiday flick, with Kevin Barnett, Pete Jones, Gretel Twombly acting as executive producers.
For Black, whose dance card also includes A Minecraft Movie and a new Anaconda flick with Paul Rudd, Dear Santa comes on the heels of blockbuster success with the animated films The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Kung Fu Panda 4.
Farrelly previously directed the Special Olympics dramedy Champions for Focus Features and has most recently signed on to Sporkinfeesten, a family vacation comedy from a script by Aaron & Will Eisenberg that has landed at Amazon MGM studios.
