Food Network Star & Former NFL Player Chef Tobias Dorzon Shot In An Attempted Robbery — Report
Chef Tobias Dorzon, a Food Network star and former NFL player, was shot in an apparent robbery in Maryland.
The Hyattsville Police Department posted a statement on social media stating that they were looking for five people involved in the incident.
“We now have descriptions of four out of the five suspects in the shooting on Nov. 5 that wounded two,” read the statement shared on Facebook.
Authorities say that there was an attempted robbery of “a man and woman as they returned from dinner,” adding that both were shot.
Police state that they were both taken to the hospital and “it’s believed that their injuries are not life-threatening.”
According to a report from WBAL-TV, surveillance footage from the incident “shows a person crawling behind a car to hide while the assailants approached another person lying on the ground. Rapid gunfire and a woman’s screams are also heard.”
Dorzon is a chef and restauranteur who owns establishments Huncho House and 1123 by Chef Tobias. On the Food Network, Dorzon appeared in Chopped, Tournament of Champions, and Guy’s Grocery Games.
Dorzon is also a former football player having played for the NFL teams Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
Following the incident, Dorzon thanked everyone who was worried about his health.
“I’m still here thank you to everyone for the prays see y’all soon,” read the caption on Instagram.
Dorzon also shared a screenshot of a post he shared on Threads that read, “My God is the greatest & if you know me you know my favorite saying. I’m Gods favorite child 1 of 1.”
