‘The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart Knows People Are Anxious Over Election Results; John Fetterman Cancels At Last Minute
Jon Stewart is live on The Daily Show and is aware that people, and particularly Democrats, are nervous.
“I know a lot of people out there feeling anxious. I want to assure you that that is very good for our ratings, so keep it up. Good work out there. Do not remove your eyes from the TV at all costs,” he said during the opening of the Comedy Central show.
Stewart kicked off his show with segments from Troy Iwata, Grace Kuhlenschmidt and Jordan Klepper.
Iwata was wearing a garbage outfit, covering the Trump campaign. “People are really sick of all the positive signs and just want to find out the results, so they can start the insurrection,” he said.
Stewart reminded him that Donald Trump was doing well. “They don’t care; win or lose these people are going to take a shit on Nancy Pelosi’s desk again.”

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, a particularly close state, was set to appear on the show, but seemingly pulled out minutes before he was set to go live with Stewart. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs took his place and said she was “optimistic” about the results in her state.
“We do have one other quick result to announce in the race to be my best friend between Senator Fetterman and Governor Katie Hobbs. Governor Katie Hobbs wins by a jillion,” he joked.
