Watch Olivia Rodrigo fall into massive hole onstage — and make graceful comeback
Olivia Rodrigo has fans saying “good for you” after she jumped right back into her concert after falling through a hole on stage.
During an October show in Melbourne, Australia, the singer had a mishap as she ran across the stage, which was captured by multiple fans at the show.
Unbeknownst to the 21-year-old, there was an opening in the stage, which she fell right into. However, the singer wasn’t down for long. After a few seconds, she lifted herself back up and brushed off the incident.
“Oh my God! That was fun,” she declared.
Rodrigo quickly reassured her fans that she was OK after the fall.
“Whoa! Sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage,” she teased.
The singer finished the rest of her set, and even posted a video of the moment on her TikTok page to make light of the accident.
Many of Rodrigo’s fans started referencing her song lyrics in the comments section. One wrote “it’s brutal out here” as a homage to her song “Brutal.”
Another commented, “Always one step forward and three steps down,” referencing her song “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.”
One TikTok user played with the lyrics of Rodrigo’s song “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” and commented, “she tripped and fell and told secrets she shouldnt tell i fear.”
Fans also commended the singer for being able to laugh at herself.
“OLIVIA HERSELF POSTED THIS?!?! 😭,” one wrote.
Another commented, “NO OLIVIA U PLAYED IT OFF SO WELL.”
Rodrigo is hardly the first performer to stumble onstage. Earlier this year, Taylor Swift almost fell off the grassy roof of a cabin as she was walking on her set. After catching herself, the singer joked, “My life flashed before my eyes.”
A few months later, Swift’s dancer Kameron Saunders fell on stage during an “Eras Tour” concert. Afterwards, he took to Instagram to share a clip of the slip with a voiceover that said, “Yep, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.”
