‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant has hilarious puzzle fail that somehow involves sausage
A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant came up with the bratwurst answer imaginable.
During the Nov. 11 episode of the popular game show, a contestant named Will tried to solve the puzzle “Give yourself a round of applause.” More than half the letters were already filled in when he guessed “Treat yourself a round of sausage,” the latest in a long line of comically poor guesses that virtually ensured his induction into the bad answer hall of fame, if such a thing existed.
After host Ryan Seacrest revealed Will’s answer was wrong, fellow contestant Kitina correctly solved the puzzle, prompting Seacrest to have some fun with Will.
“I kind of like yours better,” he said. “That sounds better than just clapping right now.”
After the game, Will spoke with social media correspondent Maggie Sajak, who called his guess a “missolve,” about his error.
“I tell you, when the lights are on, and you know, the stars and Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White, I just went blank. But, if your dad, in retirement, is watching this show, maybe cracks a beer and gets a laugh, it was worth it,” he joked about Sajak’s dad, former “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak.
Will also alluded to his job and how he’s bound to be the butt of some jokes.
“And I’m sure I’m going to have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back, so we’ll try and have some fun with it,” he said before Seacrest walked over to autograph a cue card for him.
